Open Package Review: November Ipsy (Glambag) Edition

Hello there, lovelies.
So it’s that time of the month (no, not that one)! I am a super proud subscriber to Ipsy (formerly known as MyGlam) and am excited to show you guys what I got for the month of November. Before I get into all that good stuff, let me give you guys a little information on what exactly Ipsy is. I’m sure most of you are familiar with Birchbox, Beauty Army, Julep, MakeupMonthly, and all those other services. If you are then you should have a pretty good idea on what Ipsy is. These are all services that send their subscribers monthly packages of beauty samples. You sign up with them, pay them a monthly fee, and in return they send you a package of little goodies. The awesome thing about this is that some (or maybe most) send you a very generous amount of the sampled product. It’s definitely not like going into a store and getting a little swab of the product and whatnot. They provide you with enough product for at least 2-3 uses. Ipsy will actually be turning 1 this coming December and I’m quite excited to see how they’ll celebrate their first year. They put out their first bag in December 2011 and though I was able to sign up, I was wait-listed for January 2012. From then on, I’ve been faithful to their services and remained subscribed to this very day. What I love the most about this, aside from getting awesome beauty products, is that every month is themed and every bag is different. Fab, right?? It’s run by a group of amazing YouTube beauty gurus and I’m so excited to see what more they have in store for Ipsy.

Okay, with all that being said. On to the good stuff…

Basically, the way the Glambag is packaged is the same. They send the bag in a hot pink envelope so this baby really sticks out. If you’re out checking your mail and you catch just a glimpse of pink, you already know it’s that time of the month. November’s theme is “Party Perfect.” The bag itself has a sleek and simple design. I noticed that a lot of girls who reviewed the bag said it was black. It’s actually a very deep, almost chocolate-y brown color. I love it. Definitely blends with the fall season.

First product I pulled was Nailtini nail polish in “Millionaire” from the ‘Tini Beauty Lounge.
It’s all glitter and sparkles. Very fit for this months party theme. I’m excited to try this one out because of how the sparkles catch the light. Thinking about how this will literally be on the tips of my fingers excites me very much!

Second product I pulled is a sample shadow from The Balm‘s “Meet Matt(e)” eye shadow palette. I got “Matt Batali.” The color comes off as a deep brown at first glance but when I swatched it, there seemed to be a plum-esque hint to it. The palette consists of 9 matte colors and is perfect for a “neutral to night” look. I can never get enough of matte shadows!

Third product I pulled is bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in the shade “Dare Devil.” Though it didn’t show up in the photo I have posted (most likely because of the envelope), the color is a deep, almost-purple shade. I was able to test it out earlier and was very pleased with it. It wasn’t too ‘gloppy’ especially after two coats. It also gives the lips a little tingle as well. I’m not sure if that’s normal but I definitely felt a minty-like kick on my lips.

Fourth product I pulled is a Starlet Cosmetics eyeliner in black. I forgot to take a pic of the swatch I did with this liner. It glided on very smoothly compared to the liner I use now. I’m in absolute love with the packaging. The cover and most of the body is a matte white. The body of the eyeliner has this really cool pink mist at the ends to dress it up a bit. It’s adorable!

The final product I pulled is a Chella eyebrow defining gel. It may look like your typical mascara set but don’t let that fool you. This product is actually meant to help tame your brows even on your most beastliest of beastly brow days. I’ve been meaning to try something like this because I’d only been using mascara (clear or brown) to do it. This makes me glad I didn’t go out and buy one… totally meant to be!

If you haven’t noticed and are wondering where you can possibly purchase these products, I’ve linked them all to products company name in the little captions below the photos.

I currently pay $10.00 a month as a subscriber to Ipsy and if you want any more information click here.
